It’s Definitely Counter Intuitive, But Weight Loss Concentration Is Something That Is Not Helping

For the longest time, weight loss has been the one thing that has been shoved down our throats as the thing we all want. The weight loss industry as a whole is close to $60 billion dollars a year. With something that big, it’s definitely part of our life, but thinking about weight loss is something that hurts more than helps you get in shape.

Currently there is an obsession with the scale and seeing that number go down regardless of exercise routines. But the scale is not an accurate measure of anything related to body shape or health. Think about what weight is, it’s everything in your body from water and blood, to organs, bones, muscle and fat.

The only thing you really want to lose is not really your weight but your unhealthy body fat. Your weight fluctuates so much because of all sorts of things including your water weight. This is one reason people freak when they see their weight not acting like they think it should.

Weight training for women is another reason that weight loss leads to failure and bad decisions. Women have been moving more towards building lean muscle mass. Lean muscle is the only way to boost your resting metabolic rate while burning body fat very quickly too. However when you look at the scale, you might see your weight go up. Your weight goes up rather than down because fat weights nothing compared to muscle but muscle takes up 10x less room.

So women especially will freak out when they see the number on the scale go up even though their are losing inches around their waist. That can even lead to depression and anxiety which can damage all their fitness goals.

So if weight loss is something you should not be doing, what should you do instead?

There are certain measurements that really make a difference. These measurements are your body fat percentage, your hips, stomach, thighs, and biceps mreasurements. The best time to take these measurements is in the morning either at the very start of your week or at the very end.

You will then see the right numbers which will tell you how you are doing at getting rid of fat. It’s by far the best way to lose belly fat because you know exactly what’s happening. And when it comes down to it, that is all that matters.
